Rleey | Lead Time Arrangement for Bulk & Small-Batch Carbide Orders

Rleey | Lead Time Arrangement for Bulk & Small-Batch Carbide Orders

Summary

Lead time varies greatly between small batch sample orders and mass bulk carbide production. This article explains our scheduling logic, bottleneck links, sample timeline, bulk production plan and how we arrange production to balance urgent orders and regular bulk carbide OEM projects.

Rleey | Lead Time Arrangement for Bulk & Small-Batch Carbide Orders

1. Introduction: Why Carbide Lead Time Is Hard To Predict

Tungsten carbide production is not instant manufacturing. It includes mould making, powder pressing, long sintering cycle and precision grinding. Many buyers are confused why sample lead time and bulk lead time differ a lot. At Rleey, we separate small-batch sample flow and mass production flow to avoid schedule conflict.

2. Core Production Bottlenecks Affecting Delivery Date

  • Custom mould fabrication: new mould is the biggest delay source for new drawings
  • Sintering furnace capacity: furnace batch cycle is fixed, cannot be shortened arbitrarily
  • Precision grinding & EDM station: complex shape parts occupy machine long time
  • QC inspection and report arrangement for high-standard orders

3. Small-Batch & Sample Order Scheduling Rule

Sample and small batch usually take priority on drawing review and mould trial, but they still need to wait for furnace window. For standard shape without new mould, sample cycle is much shorter. For brand-new custom shape with special mould, mould machining will take most of the sample lead time. We will separate sample batch from bulk production to avoid quality risk.

4. Bulk Mass Production Scheduling & Capacity Plan

Order Type Key Feature Schedule Note
Standard bulk parts, existing mould Stable cycle, repeat order Arrange fixed furnace slot, steady delivery
New custom bulk, after sample approval Mould ready, process confirmed Arrange continuous furnace batches
Mixed SKU bulk order Multiple sizes & grades Group similar grades for sintering to save time

5. Rush Order Policy & What We Can Speed Up

We accept rush orders under limited capacity. We can accelerate drawing review, skip non-essential waiting, and prioritize grinding station. But sintering cycle cannot be shortened, because fast sintering will bring hidden crack and unstable density. We will inform you clearly which part can be compressed and which cannot before accepting rush request.

6. Case: Mix Sample & Bulk Order Arrangement For One Client

One customer sent 3 new drawings for samples and also placed repeat bulk order of standard carbide inserts. We assigned sample group to handle new mould and trial sintering, while bulk production kept running on original furnace plan. Samples were delivered separately first, bulk shipment followed on original agreed date, no delay on mass goods.

7. Summary: How To Get Stable Delivery Schedule

Clear drawing, confirmed grade and early communication help us lock lead time. If you have both sample plan and future bulk demand, you can inform us in advance. We can reserve production capacity for your coming mass order after sample approval.
